June kicks off the summer season in Herefordshire. The days are long and sunny (honestly it never rains in cider country😉) and there are lots of great events to attend. With market town celebrations and a festival in the skies among them, explore what’s on in Herefordshire in June in our event blog.

Herefordshire is all about the cider and perry and this evening event is a workout for your tastebuds! It’s held, where else, but in the Hereford’s Cider Museum on the edge of the city.
Local cidermaker James, from Little Pomona will talk you through the cider making process and how the various tastes are achieved. It’s a blind tasting so there’s plenty of fun to be had.

Hereford is just over half an hour’s drive from Pearl Lake and Arrow Bank and 45 minutes from Rockbridge.

With events all over the town for a couple of weeks it showcases the traditional market town of Leominster. But there’s also a global feel to the fest.
There’s quiz in the streets, African drumming, a vehicle show, the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, belly dancing, poetry, flowers, a family fun day and more!
Leominster is 15 minutes from Arrow Bank and Pearl Lake and 25 minutes from Rockbridge.

Just on the doorstep of Pearl Lake Country Holiday Park is Shobdon airfield, which was a WWII air training base. This weekend is a fabulous event transporting you back to the 1940’s.
There’s fly-ins and fly-pasts, military vehicles and 40’s style entertainment. On Saturday night there’s a big band dance, whilst on both days there’s trade stands and food vendors. A great weekend for all generations!
Shobdon Airfield is a 10-minute walk from Pearl Lake, a 10-minute drive from Arrow Bank and a 20-minute drive from Rockbridge.

Yes, it’s a thing, and this year the wheelbarrow race is 50 years old!
For the anniversary there’s a theme, which is 70’s sit coms – think ‘Porridge’ and ‘George and Mildred’! There’s a speed event for hardcore wheelers and the fancy dress event too. It’s proper mad and well worth a visit to this delightful market town.
Kington is 10 minutes from Pearl Lake and Arrow Bank and 20 minutes from Rockbridge.

Whitney is just on the Herefordshire/Powys border, on the banks of the River Wye. Guided by a professional walk leader it’s a 2-hour circular route through fields, woodlands and country lanes.
These walks are all about making the most of the long summer evenings and taking in the colours and moods of this fabulous area. Bring your own food and finish up with a picnic at the end of the loop.
Whitney-on-Wye is half an hour from Arrow Bank and Pearl Lake and 45 minutes from Rockbridge.
Held at Hereford Racecourse this is a multi-generational event with something for everyone. From foam parties to tribute acts, inflatables to interactive zones, educational shows to fancy dress.
There’s more good news – U10’s go free and your can bring the dog. As it’s at the racecourse, there’s bags of parking.

Set in the delightful Lyde Court is this new second hand clothing market. If you like a forage for bargains – then this is the place for you. Curated clothing, vintage gems and unexpected finds.
The market is set inside one of Lyde Court’s rustic barns giving it a totally unique feel. There’s also the Lyde Court cafe for some tasty homemade treats and meals.
Lyde Court is about half an hour’s drive from Arrow Bank and Pearl Lake and 45 minutes from Rockbridge.
Lyde Court also hosts the Hereford Flea Market once a month.

Channel your inner Tom Cruise and become a mixologist for one night only! Hosted by the Rockfield Distillery in Hereford, the home of their distinctive gin range.
The evening brings alive the art of the mixology. Is it in the shake or the stir? You’ll get to grips with the tools of the cocktail maker and watch demonstrations before making three cocktails of your own!
So, whether you’re an espresso martini kind of girl or an old fashioned fella who loves an Old Fashioned –this is not to be missed!

Just down the road from Discover Parks, this is another great event in the market town of Kington.
You’ll hear live music from both sides of the England/Wales border. There are 2 music stages to enjoy, hosting 11 bands throughout the day. There are 2 bars and lots of food options to suit all tastes.
The is a charity event with monies raised going to the Herefordshire farming mental health charity, ‘We Are Farming Minds’.
