Yes, trailer tents are welcome on our grass pitches at Arrow Bank and Rockbridge. If you have any specific requirements regarding pitch size or positioning for a trailer tent, just let us know when booking and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Are there local pubs within walking distance of the camping area?

One of the great joys of camping in this part of Herefordshire and Mid Wales is that you're never far from a great pub. At Rockbridge, the market town of Presteigne is just under a mile from the campsite via footpath - a lovely evening stroll that takes you to several welcoming pubs including the Radnorshire Arms, the Royal Oak, the Dukes Arms, and the Farmers Inn. At Arrow Bank campsite in Eardisland, both the White Swan and the Cross Inn are just a short stroll from your pitch. The nearby village of Pembridge is also reachable on foot and has traditional pubs along the way. At Pearl Lake in Shobdon, the Angel Inn in Kingsland and the Riverside at Aymestrey are both a short drive away. And don't forget, Pearl Lake’s on-site Lakeside Bar and Bistro is open to all touring and camping guests across all three parks, wherever you're staying.

Do you have specific facilities for "backpacker" campers?

We don't have specific backpacker pitches, but our grass camping pitches are great value from just £22 per night, with full access to modern facilities including hot showers, toilets, laundry, and washing-up areas. If you're planning to arrive on foot or by bike, just get in touch before you travel so we can make sure we have the perfect camping spot ready for you.

What are the best campsites to visit in Herefordshire?

The Welsh Borderlands and Herefordshire offer some of the most beautiful and peaceful camping in England and Wales, with a fantastic range of campsites to choose from. Our own parks are among the highest-rated in the region. Arrow Bank campsite in Eardisland sits beside the River Arrow in one of Herefordshire's most picturesque black-and-white villages, with a nature trail, river fishing, and the village pub just a short stroll away. Rockbridge campsite in Presteigne sits just across the border in Powys, in one of Wales' most celebrated dark sky communities, with riverside pitches and direct access to miles of footpaths and walking trails. If you're open to touring or self-catering, Pearl Lake in Shobdon is also well worth considering. Set beside a glacial pool with 20 acres of woodland, on-site fishing, a 9-hole golf course, and a lakeside bar and bistro, it's a brilliant base for exploring this stunning corner of the Welsh Borders. All three are dog-friendly, family-friendly, and open from 1st March to late in the year, giving you plenty of time to explore Herefordshire and Powys

Herefordshire: Arrow Bank’s level grass pitches are ideal for tents and trailer tents. The campsite offers spacious, well-kept pitches, with access to meadows and wildlife trails to explore. You can also walk into the nearby village of Eardisland to visit the pub, local shop, or café. Dog owners will appreciate the on-site dog wash. Mid Wales: Rockbridge offers grass pitches suitable for both camping and touring, including tents, trailer tents, camper vans, and touring caravans. Many pitches at the campsite are set along the River Lugg, providing a serene waterside spot for relaxation and wildlife watching in Powys.

Are there private or spacious pitches for families or groups?

Herefordshire: Pitches at Arrow Bank are generous in size and naturally separated, giving families plenty of space and privacy. You won’t feel crowded, making it easy to enjoy open spaces for games, picnics, or relaxing together. Please note, we do not accept group bookings. Mid Wales: At Rockbridge, camping pitches are few but very spacious, allowing privacy and comfort for families or couples. With open riverside areas and fewer overall pitches, you can enjoy a peaceful stay without feeling packed in. Note that group bookings are not accepted.

Which pitches offer river, lake, or countryside views?

Herefordshire: The River Arrow skirts the campsite, creating a tranquil setting. Pitches overlook the parkland rather than the river directly, but it’s easy to stroll along the riverbank or take in the surrounding meadows and wildlife trails. Mid Wales: Many pitches at Rockbridge are alongside the River Lugg, offering a peaceful waterside setting. Countryside views stretch to nearby hills, valleys, and forests, and Offa’s Dyke passes right by the camping site, giving a truly rural and scenic backdrop for your stay.

Are electric hook-up pitches available?

Herefordshire: Some grass pitches at Arrow Bank include a 16-amp electric hook-up, letting you power lights, kettles, or devices while enjoying a relaxed camping experience. Mid Wales: Rockbridge also offers 16-amp electric hook-up pitches for tents, trailer tents, camper vans, and touring caravans, so you can stay connected while enjoying the outdoors.

Can I bring pets, and which pitches are pet-friendly?

Herefordshire: Up to two dogs per pitch are welcome at Arrow Bank Country Park. Guests can enjoy open spaces, wildlife trails, a fenced off-lead exercise area, and a separate off-lead field, giving dogs plenty of room to run. There’s also an on-site dog wash for a convenient clean-up after walks. Mid Wales: Rockbridge camping pitches are dog-friendly too, with up to two dogs per pitch. Guests can use the secure off-lead area, dog wash, and riverside walks to keep pets happy.

Are there seasonal or long-stay camping options?

Herefordshire: At Arrow Bank, if you’re camping in a tent or trailer tent, you can book a pitch for as long as you like during the season, 1 March – 30 November. This gives flexibility to book a long-term pitch for several days or several weeks without needing to move frequently. For those with caravans, seasonal pitches are also available - your caravan stays on-site all season, so you can turn up whenever you like. Caravan storage is an option for visitors who prefer not to leave their tourer on the pitch between visits. Mid Wales: At Rockbridge, tent and trailer camping can be booked for any duration within the season (1 March – 30 November) letting you plan a short break or a long-stay camping break. Seasonal pitches for caravans allow your tourer to remain on the pitch throughout the season, while caravan storage is available for those who only want their caravan set up for specific visits and stored afterward.

Herefordshire: While there’s no formal on-site playground, pitches are close to open areas for games and picnics. There’s also a “recreational field” with football goals, perfect for a kickabout. Additional playgrounds and family-friendly areas can be found in the nearby village of Eardisland. Families can also drive to Pearl Lake Country Holiday Park to enjoy its playground. Mid Wales: The park has open spaces suitable for games and family activities, along with the stargazing dome and water garden. Additional playgrounds and family-friendly areas are available in the nearby town of Presteigne and Pearl Lake’s playground is a short drive away.
