A winter treat for your static caravan

At Discover Parks, we like to make being an owner of a static caravan holiday home or luxury lodge a stress-free experience. We want to maximise the positive vibes you feel, knowing you have a bolt hole on the Herefordshire/Powys border. It’s why, when you’re off-park for winter, we’re busy preparing your static caravan for a spring return.

We mustn’t be fooled by the fabulous summer we’ve had. It often follows that a good summer is followed by a harsh winter – so look out and get ahead of the game!

Winterise and save money

Water, pipes, freezing temperatures just don’t mix.  Despite being pretty well insulated these days the water works of your average static caravan or lodge are still far more exposed to the elements than the standard house.

Repair costs can run into the thousands and make your sited static into a stressful, ruined space for the sake of saving a few £££’s.

What’s a winterisation service?

A winterisation or a drain down is precisely what it sounds like. The water is turned off and all the taps are opened, including shower valves. Any water in the system is blown out of the pipes with a compressor and antifreeze is poured into plug holes and toilets.

Central heating systems are also checked, making sure there’s sufficient antifreeze levels to prevent pipes and radiators from freezing or bursting. We leave your heating controls and  thermostats untouched so if you opt to keep your gas on, the settings remain the same.

Once winterisation is done, your holiday home should be perfectly safe over the winter period, however cold it gets, ready for you to arrive in the spring. 

Back on for a spring return

We’ll carry out the service within 5 days of the date you request. When we know your return date to park, we’ll then turn the water back on to flush through all antifreeze. We’ll check all taps and showers and ensure the home has no leaks. If there’s still risks of frost, we’ll turn the heating on to frostat (or approximately 5-10 degrees).

Our internal winter clean service

At Discover Parks, we also make light work of giving your holiday home an internal winter clean up. Forget all that wiping down, dusting and hardcore hoovering before you leave for the closed season. You’ll return to a thoroughly refreshed space without lifting a finger!

Choose from two packages –

Gold Clean – £125 single unit/£155 twin.
Every room will have all surfaces, walls, mirrors, windows, tracking, blinds, skirtings, doors & floors cleaned. Plus kitchen, utility, all dining room furniture, all living room furniture. All bathroom screens, drains, sinks, units, toilets will also be thoroughly cleaned and polished.

Silver Clean – £80 single unit/£100 twin.
This service concentrates on the kitchen and bathrooms. Our housekeepers will whip through your en-suites, main bathrooms and the kitchen during January with another quick once over ready for your return date.

Bathrooms will have bath, shower walls, screens and drains deep cleaned. Plus the sink, any units, the toilet and floor.

In the kitchen, the oven, extractor hood and hob will be deep cleaned together with the fridge/ freezer. Cupboard tops, doors, counter tops and sink will be cleaned and the floor washed plus a thorough hoover of the entire holiday home.
