Dog-friendly holiday parks
Pooches living their best life on and off the lead at our dog friendly parks.
Whether your hound is Hungarian vizsla, your pooch a Pomeranian or your mutt a Miniature Schnauzer, we all want our furry, best friend to live their best life. And at our dog-friendly holiday parks, they really can!
There’s no denying it, we love our dogs as much as (possibly more than!) our closest family and dearest friends.
Our dogs are an integral part of our lives. They’re as excited to see us if we’ve been gone for just five minutes or five hours. They accompany us to the loo, sense our moods, rarely turn their noses up at food and never demand a takeaway. They don’t want to watch Newsnight when you’re deep in Love Island.
We forgive their crotch sniffing of strangers and we’re happy to carry their little bags of treasure on the longest of walks. So why wouldn’t we want them to share our holidays too?
At Discover Parks, dogs aren’t just welcome – they’re part of the experience. With open spaces to explore, dog-friendly facilities, and cosy pubs that love pooches as much as you do, they’ll be having just as much fun as you are!
While all our parks are dog-friendly, we ask that you keep your pooch on a lead when walking around. But don’t worry – there are dedicated off-lead areas where they can run free!
Dogs love new places to explore. Unfamiliar scents, fresh soil to dig in, and new chums to sniff (no more details needed there!).
And at Discover Parks, every day is a new adventure, whether you’ve got Buddy the Bichon Frise or Daisy the Dachshund in tow. All three parks have enclosed dog exercise fields, giving your dog space for a good old sniff and run about. We keep them well-maintained, so there’s no chance of any great escapes. There’s long grass to run around in (for them), cut grass paths (for you) and space for games of fetch (both).
We’ve got some great facilities that make bringing Jim the Jack Russell to Discover Parks very convenient.
Imagine Sidney the springer, back from a lovely walk where he’s been exploring the river shallows by lying down and cooling off, rolling in fox poo or paying his last respects to a dead animal by rubbing himself all over it. Before you can shout ‘Winalot’ he’s straight onto your spotlessly clean carpets, rugs, sofas or sleeping bags.
Wash and blow dry Coco the cockerpoo? Yep we’ve got a shower room just for dogs!
Our warm dog wash stations make cleaning up a breeze. Each has:
✔ A raised shower base (less bending for you!)
✔ Steps to help your dog in and out
✔ Eco-friendly dog shampoo
✔ A hairdryer for those unruly coats
So, whether Coco the Cockapoo has been rolling in something questionable or Sid the Spaniel decided to take a dip, we’ve got the facilities to get them freshened up in no time.
After a great day of walkies, followed by a freshen up in the shower, both you and your canine companion will be ready for a few drinks and meal out.
There’s loads of pubs and eateries not far from all our parks where well-behaved dogs are as welcome as their owners.
The Lakeside Bar and Bistro. It’s the community hub of Pearl Lake Country Holiday Park and it’s dog friendly too! Owners and guests from Arrow Bank and Rockbridge Parks are also very welcome, with dogs, down the Lakeside.
There’s extensive outdoor seating as well as heaps of room inside for your dog to stretch out.
As our area of North Herefordshire and Powys are so rural – you’ll find dog friendly pubs and cafes aplenty.
If you’re looking for dog friendly cafes to enjoy a brew try Megs Cafe at Shobdon airfield, just a short walk and even shorter drive from Pearl Lake, Bloom and Grind in the village of Pembridge a go, it’s pretty much equidistant from Arrow Bank and Pearl Lake. The Grange at Mortimers Cross has a garden centre and coffee shop and is dog friendly too.
So, don’t leave your pooch behind – there’s plenty to keep them busy in and around Discover Parks!
