The park, on the edge of Eardisland is part of Discover Parks, run by Glenn and Hannah Jones. Arrow Bank has received Bronze certification by the Green Toursim organisation. Green Tourism has been assessing and accrediting tourism and hospitality businesses on their sustainable choices since 1997.
Arrow Bank had to achieve certain criteria under 15 sustainability goals, grouped under the pillars of People, Places and Planet.
Among the evidence submitted by the holiday park was:
*The installation of solar lighting
*Timed showers and taps to reduce water usage.
*Timed lights in communal facilities
*EV charging for customers and business EV fleet vehicles
*Running environmental projects to protect wildlife and habitats around the park.
*Ongoing commitment to team wellbeing.
Glenn Jones, owner and Managing Director of Discover Parks says he’s thrilled with the certification. “Achieving this Bronze Award means that our sustainability practices have been assessed, for their social, economic, and environmental impacts. It shows that what we’re doing is providing a holistic approach to our sustainability performance.
“Becoming a greener and more sustainable business cannot be achieved overnight. It requires investment and hard work from all teams across the company. We’re thrilled that the first stage of our sustainable journey has been recognised. Our team are really invested in working to reach the next level as soon as we can.”
Discover Parks is dedicated to economic, environmental, and social sustainability says Glenn Jones. “Whether you’re one of our owners or simply staying a few nights on holiday, you can be sure you’re supporting a business where the future of people, places and the planet are at the forefront of everything we do.”
